Restaurant Brands International Inc., the owner of Burger King and Tim Hortons, says the food-service industry needs to change “for the foreseeable future and possibly forever” after Covid   After an extensive investigation, reports by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) released on 3 April concluded that the Malaysian police’s Special Branch was involved in Amri and Koh’s abduction – going so far as to describe it as an “enforced disappearance by state agents”.

“Now they should answer because they have been targeted as those responsible for the abductions,” he said yesterday after Suhakam presented its findings. He also noted that Citizen Action Group On Enforced Disappearance (Caged) spokesman Rama Ramanathan said they were very happy with the “bold” decision by the Suhakam : Anne Ng.   A friend of Koh’s for more than 20 years, Lee felt that after the Suhakam hearing in April there were too many unanswered questions. The Suhakam hearing concluded that the Special Branch, the special police intelligence team from Bukit Aman, was involved in the abduction of pastor Koh, similar to that of activist Amri Che : R. Loheswar.

In the book's final chapter modeled after the famous expose 'J'accuse' by Émile Zola, E.S. Shankar lays firmly the blame for a massive cover-up right at the door-step of Malaysia's prime minister Najib Tun Razak and what he has branded, as his government of thieves. After 15 years of struggle, the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) have obtained some degrees of recognition by Malaysians. While their success was not without flaws, the impact they have in the human rights discourse in Malaysia cannot be dismissed easily.
